This two bedroom traditional house is situated in the heart of Sorède, a friendly Catalan village just 10 minutes from the sea. The street is quiet & parking is free & easily found nearby. It has been newly renovated to a high standard. Maison Canigou is a characterful and sunny house with all year round eating terrace & good views. Though totally independent it is part of Gites Sorède, which also includes two, one-bedroom apartments located to the rear of the house. The local shops, restaurants and market square are within a couple of minutes walk.
Outside terrace
Sunny south facing eating terrace with table & chairs seating 5 people comfortably. From here you can watch the locals heading for the market with their straw baskets saying ‘Bonjour’ as they pass. You will feel very much part of the village. It is very pleasant to eat out here most of the year.

The Sitting/dining room leads directly onto the terrace & kitchen. A large window allows in plenty of sunlight making it warm & welcoming. Furnishings include a sofa bed, coffee table, TV, table & chairs & wood burning stove. A large cupboard is supplied with children’s games & toys

The Kitchen leads directly to the sitting/dining room. The spacious modern oak kitchen with wooden worktops & Catalan tiles, is quite luxurious. There is all the quality equipment you might expect to go with it. This includes full size oven, hob with 4 rings, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster & kettle. The kitchen is well supplied with crockery, cutlery & other culinary items. We have tried to think of everything you might need for a longer stay too. The large window opens directly to the terrace. |

Upstairs
Traditional stairway leads to a light hallway opening to all of the upstairs rooms. Here there is a large cupboard with plenty of hanging space.

In the main bedroom, French doors lead to a balcony with views of the village & Le Canigou, sacred mountain of the Catalans. From autumn to spring its peaks are snowcapped. There is a good sized double bed, bedside cabinet, chest of drawers & full size mirror. This room is light & sunny

The second bedroom comfortably sleeps two and can accommodate 3. The french doors lead to another balcony. There are two single beds & a bedside cabinet.

The house is suitable for adults & children over 4 years of age or young
